Formerly Educalme—now Breathe Grow Thrive. New name, same calming classroom tools (but better 😉).

Hey there, teacher friend. 🍎
We know the feeling. The transition from recess was a little rockier than usual. The energy in the room is vibrating at a frequency that makes "ready to learn" feel miles away. Your own to-do list is looming, and you can feel that familiar tightness in your chest.
When the classroom vibe starts to feel like a pressure cooker, it’s not just the students who are struggling.
It’s a systemic challenge we all face.
But what if you had a 2-minute "reset button" that actually worked?

Help your students (and yourself!) stay calm, focused, and self-regulated—with just a few minutes of breathing exercises each day.

That’s where co-regulation comes in.
By guiding your students through a simple, mindful strategy, you’re not just managing behaviour; you’re teaching them a life skill and giving yourself a moment to breathe, too. 🙌

This is one of those ready-to-use tools that works every time.
It’s a visualization exercise that helps students tap into their own internal resources to find safety and focus.
How to "Press Play" on Calm:
Ask your students to sit comfortably and close their eyes (or find a soft gaze on the floor).
Ask them to imagine a place, real or imaginary, where they feel completely peaceful, safe, and happy. It could be a cozy corner at home, a grandparent’s backyard, or a quiet spot in nature.
Guide them through their calm place using the five senses:
Sight: What do you see around you? Is it bright? Soft? What colours are there?
Sound: Is it quiet, or do you hear the wind or birds?
Smell: Is there a scent that makes you feel safe?
Touch: What do you feel under your feet or against your skin?
Taste: Is there a flavour you associate with this peaceful spot?
Remind them that this place lives inside them. They can visit it anytime they feel overwhelmed, frustrated, or just need a second to reset before a big test.
At Breathe Grow Thrive, we believe SEL shouldn’t be a burden. We’ve been in the trenches of teaching, and we know you don’t have time for dense manuals or complex prep.
"Your Calm Place" is powerful because:
It’s Inclusive: Every student’s calm place is unique to their own experience.
It’s Practical: No materials needed. Just your voice and 120 seconds.
It Benefits YOU: We encourage you to practice right along with them. You deserve a moment to enter your own calm place amidst the busyness of the school day too.
Mindfulness is a skill, and like any skill, it needs repetition.
We recommend practicing this daily for a week (at the very minimum) to help it become a "muscle memory" for your students.
To make it even easier, we’ve included a "My Calm Place" poster in our free poster pack.
Hanging this in your "calm corner" or at the front of the room serves as a gentle, visual reminder for students to use their mindful strategies independently. 🖼️
